SUMMARY:What Can You Do About Neck pain?
DESCRIPTION:\nPeople may experience neck pain for a variety of reasons. While most first episodes of neck pain will resolve, some people may experience recurrent episodes of neck pain over many years. The first step in managing neck pain is to gain an understanding of why it is occurring. This requires an accurate diagnosis from a suitably qualified health practitioner which includes a comprehensive understanding of how the condition is affecting the individual’s life so that an appropriate care pathway can be planned. Most patients benefit from sound advice and education regarding activity modification, reassurance regarding symptoms, and physical therapies such as exercise to help them move better and cope with daily demands on their neck. However not all individuals are the same, and some may require further investigations or a multidisciplinary approach to the management of their neck pain. This webinar will discuss these factors and more to help people take charge of their neck pain.\nOur presenter:  Shaun O’Leary, BPHTY (Hon), MPHTY (Msk), PhD, is an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy between the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Queensland, and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Physiotherapy Department. He is also a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. Shaun is across clinical education at all levels of physiotherapy training. He has had a research focus on the prevention and management of neck pain over the past 20 years, and has co-authored over 100 research articles and 2 books concerning the management of neck pain.\nHave you checked out our series before? \nWe have a huge list of interesting webinars from 2021 and 2022 with links to the FREE recordings!
