Held at the beautiful Rippon Lea Estate in Melbourne and streamed live via zoom, WBSI got people moving and challenged the way we think about exercise, movement, and health. Our aim: to highlight the significant role musculoskeletal health plays in our overall health and raise awareness of the invisible epidemic of musculoskeletal disease. With over 150 different musculoskeletal conditions, like arthritis and back pain, affecting more than 7 million Australians, musculoskeletal disease is a serious health issue that can have real and life-long impacts. Many of these conditions are invisible, making it even more important to foster greater understanding, empathy, and support. This event shone a light on the challenges faced by those living with musculoskeletal conditions and challenged everyone to take action to look after their muscle, bone and joint health. We extend a heartfelt thank you to our major sponsor epijoint who worked with us to get this campaign off and running. Musculoskeletal Health Australia is committed to growing WBSI into a global movement, and we are very grateful to be working with such a great Australian company who are committed to creating innovative products that have a meaningful impact and drive real change in the joint health industry. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors epijoint, City of Glen Eira, Peninsula Hot Springs, Pfizer and corporate supporter Zea – and we thank them! We also want to express our gratitude to Tiff Hall, our incredible chair-based exercise instructor. Tiff led the class with energy and enthusiasm. Her own experience of living with osteoarthritis helped guide the workout, making it both enjoyable and accessible for people of all ages and fitness levels. Thanks Tiff! The success of WBSI has been a huge step forward in raising awareness of musculoskeletal disease and the importance of taking care of our muscles, bones, and joints. Setting a national record is an achievement we are incredibly proud of, but the true success lies in the conversations we’ve started, the understanding we’ve built, and the positive changes WBSI has inspired in people’s lives. Whether you joined us at Rippon Lea Estate, participated via zoom, or helped spread the word, your support has made a real difference. We hope that this event has inspired you to get and stay active to support your musculoskeletal health. As we look ahead to next year, we are already planning for an even bigger “World’s Biggest Sit-In”. We hope to see you there! Thank you once again for being a part of this historic event.
