Movement is Medicine: Why good musculoskeletal health is essential to overall health and wellbeing at all ages
Please join us online for our free 2025 Koadlow Community Lecture on Tuesday 28 October, 7pm AEDT
Musculoskeletal diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis and back pain are one of the leading causes of disability and early retirement globally. These are also one of the world’s greatest public health challenges.
So why is musculoskeletal health not a top priority for us and for governments? Is it because it is invisible? Because there isn’t a direct mortality?
The prestigious 2025 Koadlow Lecture will be presented by Gerald Quigley, Musculoskeletal Health Australia Awareness Month Ambassador, practicing Community Pharmacist, recognised health expert and media health commentator, Master Herbalist and Author.
Gerald will explore the role movement and physical activity has in establishing and maintaining musculoskeletal health. The role musculoskeletal health plays in overall health and wellbeing including the serious comorbidities that can develop when we don’t move and maintain our musculoskeletal health. He will also explore which movement and physical activities can support healthy bones, muscles and joints and as such our overall health.
This is a lecture not to be missed. Funny, engaging, evidence based, Gerald will deliver a Koadlow Lecture that will have meaning and relevance to everyone.
