Sweet vinegar pork ribs

Kitty’s sweet, warm and  hearty pork ribs are just the thing to add to your winter menu.  Served with steamed or roasted vegetables. this dish is sure to be on high rotation this winter.

Time: 45 mins  Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1kg pork ribs
  • 1.5 cups of Chinese dark vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tsp minced garlic (~5g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Method:

  1. Cut pork ribs into small pieces
  2. Cook the pork ribs in boiling water for 2 mins
  3. Drain pork ribs from the water
  4. Heat a medium size saucepan (ideally non-stick) with olive oil
  5. Pan fry the boiled pork ribs, add minced garlic and cooking wine, cook until golden
  6. Add Chinese dark vinegar, soy sauce and sugar
  7. Simmer the pork ribs for 30 mins or until the sauce thickened
  8. Ready to serve

Tips

    1. You can add more or less sugar according to taste
    2. You can use pork belly instead of pork ribs.
